History - Shatar was born and raised in a small cot hold. Family life was full of fun and chores. His natural skills as an organizer had him getting other children to help each other to get chores done so that they could have more time to play. Having a normal childhood also meant the normal things that one did that got one in trouble. Often though it was doing things that his mother thought were too advanced for his age. He was trying to keep up with his older brother.
Helping with the animals was a normal thing to do, he loves all creatures. Some day he hoped to be able to find some Firelizard eggs, the only thing that would top that would be to become a dragon rider. The day his brother was run over in the stampede was the hardest day of his life. Shatar considered it his fault that he couldn't get the gate open fast enough for his brother to escape. Even though it’s been a few years, the pain is still very sharp.
He tried to apprentice to the tanner where his younger brother Malar is. For some reason, keeping the mixing of certain chemicals and the order they went in was just not something he could remember. He ended up doing the books instead. Being good with figures helped him out in this area. He did a good job too, it always came out right.
He decided on his turn day that he didn't want to do this for the rest of his life, he wanted much more. He had heard that Weyrs were a hive of activity, and always looking for help. Shatar decided to go do just that. Saying good bye to his family he headed out with a caravan of traders, to see what he could do to make things better. Maybe with Dragons.
Upon arriving at the Weyr Shatar asked the first person he came to about helping somewhere. It seemed the drudge he talked to was headed to the stables. Not real sure of protocol, Shatar followed the drudge. All in all after meeting so many people he couldn't remember who was who and for the life of him he couldn't remember the Weyrleaders name, nor the Headwoman either. He knew that was most important to know. He would just have to keep his ears open and catch the names as he went.
He found himself helping with the herdbeasts. He enjoyed helping with the herdbeast tally and keeping the figures. He was surprised at how many went to feeding the dragons, and how many went to feeding the Weyr itself. While out taking a tally of the beasts in the pen for the dragons, Shatar met a Bluerider leaning on the fence while his blue prepared to feed. Before catching his first buck the blue seemed to give Shatar a long stare. Next thing Shatar knew he was looking for the Candidate master.
WHEN Osirith died S'tar was devastated. He wandered out into the desert to die. He didn't know how long or how far he had gone until someone from Star Stone Hold found him dehydrated and almost dead in the shade of a large barrel cactus out of his mind. It had taken a long time to come around and heal physcially. Mentally he was still sometimes a wreck. He had no idea why he hadn't died but he didn't care. He helped Lord Janothen and several other crafts that were needing his help with figures. Doing inventory wasn't hard. He loved working with the figures.
Then the day came when a dark blue Dragon brought his rider D'en on search. S'tar had a feeling his life was about to change for ever.
Dragon -
Name - Osirith (Oh-sye-rith) DECEASED PLAGUE
Color - Egyptian blue
Sire-
Dam-
Personality - This little blue is a sweet natured sort. He is supportive, caring and laid back. His favorite thing to do is relax by the lake. Nothing ever troubles him as he is a calm and reserved sort of guy. Like his rider he prefers to enjoy the world rather than dwell on the negative. In fact he never lets things get to him and often seems to be at complete peace with the world. He feels very strongly the emotions and thoughts of people so he may make a good Search dragon should his rider notice how sensitive he is. Being sensitive does not make him weak. A good flier and a steady friend, Osirith is gets along well with everyone and everything.
When it comes to greens he is a bit more suave than his rider in that he knows how to treat a green however he can be just as wrong about pursuing their interest as his rider is. The blue could never think of hurting anyone. He obeys authority in all instances which shows great understanding of the way the Weyr ranks work. Osirith would be mortified if his rider did something to offend someone of higher rank especially a Goldrider. He is neither lazy nor hard working but somewhere in the middle. Osirith will do what it takes to be average or a little above average but is by no means ambitious.
History - It was clear to everyone the Silent Nature Blue was taking his time, moving down the candidates slowly and watching each with gentle eyes. It was with slow, padding steps that he approached the boy he had chosen, stepping close to him as he spoke. (Starmine) He said smoothly, rubbing against the boy's legs affectionately. (Your Osirith has been waiting for you. Are you pleased with me? He asked, voice sweet and anxious.
Description - Osirith's hide is darker than sky blue by several shades. The color can be called Egyptian blue. He has no markings, no blemishes. The color itself is quite eye opening as it is. Osirith is a smaller blue though not the smallest. He has a lithe body with a long neck and tail and larger wingspan. He will be agile enough when he is older to keep some greens on their toes. His claws are a dark gray and are not all that noticeable.
