Features - E'lyo has shoulder length brown hair that has dyed streaks of ruby red through it that he acquired as a Candidate on The Station. His deep brown eyes are smoldering, and outlined by thick eye brows and dark eyelashes. His skin is naturally a bit darker than some of the other people around him, and spending a lot of time in the sun in the West has made him even darker in a bronzed tan shade. At thirteen he hasn't quite finished growing yet, but at six feet he has almost reached his full height.
With a sturdy build that suggests a good deal of muscle hidden under his shirt, and his signature black leather jacket, E'lyo is prone to wearing darker colors, blacks mostly. His face looks serious and almost angry, but E'lyo is just a kid that still doesn't know what he wants to do with his life.

History - The oldest of his three siblings, E'lyo was often charged with the care of the younger ones while his parents were busy with their Crafts. He was never particularly close with any of them, since the smallest age gap is five years, but he took good care of them.
His childhood was generally normal. He played games, scraped his knees, had some friends to get into trouble with. There was no outstanding events in his childhood that set hi apart from his peers.
At twelve, E'lyo was Searched from his home in Oasis Hold, where his father was a miner, and his mother was a healer, and taken to Star Stone Weyr for Candidate Classes. Upon his arrival, he realized he was on the young end of the Candidate list. Most of them were at least fourteen, but that didn't discourage him. E'lyo had never had a competitive nature, so he just laid back and relaxed, letting the pieces fall in to place where they may.
When he turned thirteen, it was only a few days before the Diamond Hatching. He couldn't think of a better birthday present than to become a dragonrider. On the Sands, Mylinth made no hesitation in naming E'lyo His. The special bond of Impression was formed, and E'lyo was given his birthday wish.
