History - Loosing her parents at a young age and watching her sister Karine rebel as she had to grow up faster then she had wanted with more responsibilities thrust upon her, and a family friend temporarily looking after Oasis Hold as she grew up. The mystery of her parents' death haunted her as she tried to understand what had caused their demise. No one knew, they had just vanished after a Gather in the South, not even a body had turned up. It was suspected that they were attacked by a wild animal and would not be returning. Caused Tara to look at things differently as well.
As a teen she was convinced she did not want to be Lady Holder any more then her sister had, but still learned what was required to aid her sister, Yet rebelled in her own ways learn protect not only herself with available weapons but others with her. Seeing her sister Officially named Lady Holder of Oasis Hold. Tara started trying to find ways to learn more of what had happened to their parents without as much worry, especially after Karine took the off worlder Mathew Dunham as Husband. allowing Tara a chance to explore more of the continent and the approximate area where her parents had been lost
It was durring one of her stays at the Hold when she saw that her beloved nephew Makarin become ill, as well as watching his passing in her sisters arms that decided Tara that she had more to do at Oasis for Karine and Matthew's marriage strained and finally they separated, Matthew leaving Pern to return to his home planet. watching her sisters grief as she delt with all this and then her sister wishing to turn the Hold over to her and Takar took a great deal to convince her that she needed to remain Lady Holder also caused Tara to decide a few things for herself as she too remained assisting her sister as much as Possible. seeing the loss of the spark and happiness she had once had as her sister turned much more serious about her responsibilities, caused Tara to become a more somber person as well as well as cautious over allowing to many more access to her heart.
