While both Mitaki and her 'twin' Motaki tend to give off a bit of a creepy vibe, Mitaki is the more obviously eerie of the two. She has a fascination with ghosts, to the point of claiming to have heard and seen them herself. Whether this is true or the result of a rather active (if somewhat morbid) imagination is uncertain.
While she does have something of a fixation on death and dead things, Mitaki is equally fascinated by nature and living plants, animals and insects. While she might trap said critters to try and study them better, she is extremely reluctant to harm them and always carefully lets them go when she is finished. She likes plants better than animals, since she can keep them without feeling bad. She likes to collect and grow any odd plants she can find and persuade to grow for her.
Despite being a bit awkward and shy with strangers at first, Mitaki actually likes people and trying to make friends. She's just... Well not very good at it. She tends to try and start conversations with comments such as, “Have you ever seen dead people? I do sometimes. Want to hear about it?” To her confusion and disappointment, such conversations rarely take off in the direction she hopes they will.
