The Terror Returns

When the storms came, nothing was much thought of it. The Dragonriders continued on as if nothing would go wrong. The riders and seamen explored the South, North, and Western continents. The depths of Pern's oceans were scouted and mapped as far down as they could go with the aid of the dolphins. Slowly, with the advances made in technology, education, and medicine life began to improve. The threat of Thread had passed and the asteroid showers were something minor to deal with once in a while.

Peace had finally come as a final reward to the citizens of Pern's colonists and their generations of struggles.

Nothing could have prepared them for the turbulence of the Pern's Tenth Pass. A minor asteroid shower fell across the smallest continent to the West where new Holds were coming to life.

With an unexpected asteroid shower came the horrifying return of Thread in unpredictable falls. Often the deadly menace was accompanied by stormy weather consisting of turbulent windstorms, tornadoes, earthquakes, and the rare crater being formed deep into the terrain. No place on Pern was truly safe anymore.

Dragonriders are called to action in the most dangerous era yet. Holders and Crafters are called upon once more to aid the Riders in helping their precious home to survive with asteroids, meteors, and thread in front of them.

So, they reached out and scrambled to finish the work that had begun not too long ago. They needed a way to predict the Passes greatest threats. To fight the falls they would need the brightest lights...
