Harpers still are the primary means of early education for the children of Pern. However, they have augmented their lessons with information that they themselves have learned from the AVIAS Archives located at Landing.
Most children, from the ages of 8 to 10 Turns, are usually sent to Landing for more advance education before they are either apprenticed out to their chosen Crafthalls, or return to their home Holds.
Senior apprentices are usually sent to Landing to learn advance techniques for their Crafts, before they can walk the tables to become journeymen.
The higher tech Crafts usually handle the majority of their training at Landing, where they have Crafthalls located there.
